Polkovnik Boris Ivanovich Zhukov

1917 –

Boris Zhukov was born 1917 in Zubovo in the Moscow region.

On the German attack on Soviet Union on 22 June 1941, he served in the 38 IAP on the North-Western Front.

On 12 July, while flying in an I-153, he claimed an enemy aircraft by ramming. He managed to land with his damaged fighter.
For this combat, he was awarded with the Order of the Red Banner.

On 3 May 1942, the 38 IAP became the 21 GIAP.

Zhukov ended the war with 1 biplane victory. During the war, he claimed an additional eight shared victories.

He continued to serve in the VVS after the war and retired in 1960 as a Polkovnik in the reserve to live in Taganrog.
