Marcello Calafiore was born on 9 March 1920 and was from Rome.

In October 1941, Calafiore served in the 376a Squadriglia Autonomo C.T. This unit was at the time equipped with Fiat CR.42s.

During the night of 28 October, Amedeo Parmeggiani and Calafiore claimed a shared Wellington over Naples.
The Wellington was from 104 Squadron.

He was killed in Russia on 13 May 1942.
