In October 1941, Calafiore served in the 376^a Squadriglia Autonomo C.T. This unit was at the time equipped with Fiat CR.42s.

During the night of 28 October, Amedeo Parmeggiani and Calafiore claimed a shared Wellington over Naples.
The Wellington was from 104 Squadron.

He was killed in Russia on 13 May 1942.
