Podpolkovnik Timofei Fedorovich Amelchenko

Amelchenko was born in 1908.

Kapitan Amelchenko served in 347 IAP from November 1941. This unit was at the time equipped with Polikarpov I-153s.

He left 347 IAP in July 1942, when he was posted to 133 IAP.

On 7 July 1942, he was decorated with the Order of the Red Banner.
He received a second Order of the Red Banner on 17 October.

He remained with 133 IAP unit until August 1943.

In October 1943, he was posted to 148 IAP.

He left 148 IAP in June 1944, when he was posted to the HQ of 236 IAD where he remained until the war in Europe ended in May 1945.

He was decorated with the Order of Patriotic War 1st Class on 20 September 1944.

Amelchenko ended the war with 2 biplane victories and a total of 4.
These had been claimed during 184 combat missions and 28 air combats.

He was decorated with the Order of the Red Star on 15 May 1945.
