Adam Amkoladze was born in 1918.

In June 1941, he served in 153 IAP, flying Polikarpov I-153s.

On 9 July 1941, Aleksey Smirnov and Amkoladze both claimed their first victories when the I-153s of 153 IAP were in combat with Bf 109s over Parikka.

In the spring of 1942, the 153 IAP was re-equipped with P-39 Airacobras and arrived at Voronezh airfield on 29 June 1942.

On 2 July, the Airacobras from 153 IAP claimed two Bf 109s when Amkoladze claimed one north of Sukovkino Station and Viktor Karpukhin claimed a second north over Sukovkino.

On 4 July, the Airacobras from 153 IAP fought with Bf 109s in the Vyaznovatovka area. Starshiy leitenant Mikhail Ivanov and Amkoladze claimed one each west of Vyaznovatovka while Aleksandr Avdeyev claimed one north of Vyaznovatovka.

On 21 November 1942, 153 IAP became 28 GIAP.

Starshiy leitenant Amkoladze was killed in air combat on 17 March 1943.

At the time of his death, Amkoladze was credited with 1 biplane victory and a total of 5.
