Dmitriy Anisimov was born in 1920.

He graduated from the flight school in Borisoglebskaya in 1939.

From February 1942, mladshiy leitenant Anisimov served in 133 IAP. This regiment operated on the Crimean Front and was equipped with Polikarpov I-153s.

He was posted from 133 IAP to 931 IAP in May 1942.
This regiment later became 931 SAP.

In December 1942, he was posted from 931 SAP to 975 IAP.
From 17 December 1942, 975 IAP operated on the Transcaucasian Front. It seems that they flew a mix of I-16s and I-153s.

He was killed in air combat on 29 March 1942.

At the time of his death, starshiy leitenant Anisimov was credited with 2 biplane victories.
These had been claimed during 239 combat missions (as of 30 January 1943).
