Petr Berlov was born in 1915.

He graduated from flight school at Borisoglebskaya in 1938.

When Germany invaded the Soviet Union on 22 June 1941, starshiy leytenant Berlov served in 147 IAP, which operated on the North Front with Polikarpov I-153s.

The I-153s from 147 IAP was in combat with Bf 110s over Lutto on 26 October 1941 and mladshiy leytenant Viktor Ivanov claimed one shared together with three other pilots. It is possible that this claim was shared with Berlov since it’s known that he claimed a shared during the day.
This claim can’t be verified with Luftwaffe records.

On 7 November 1941, Berlov was decorated with the Order of the Red Star.

He left 147 IAP in February 1942 and in March he was posted to 768 IAP. With this unit he flew Hurricanes in the Murmansk air defence district.

On 14 February 1943, he was decorated with the Order of Lenin.

In March 1943, he left 768 IAP and was posted to 966 IAP.

He left 966 IAP in August 1944 and in December, he was posted to 651 IAP where he remained until the end of the war.

Berlov ended the war with 1 biplane victory and a total of 2.
These had been claimed during 260 combat missions and 15 air combats (as of 10 June 1942).

He was decorated with the Order of the Patriotic War 2nd Class on 11 March 1985
