1917 – 24 March 1942
Date | Decoration | Note |
21/02/42 | Order of the Red Banner |
Nikolay Dmitriyev was born in 1917.
He graduated from Borisoglebskaya flight school in 1939.
Mladshiy leitenant Dmitriyev was posted to 270 IAP in December 1941. At this time this unit was flying Polikarpov I-153s and entered combat against the German invaders on 9 December 1942. They were part of the Transcaucasian Front.
In January 1942, 270 IAP moved to the Crimean Front.
Leitenant Vasiliy Tereshchenko claimed a Ju 87 over Chelebi-Eli on 13 January 1942. It’s possible that mladshiy leitenant Dmitriyev claimed a second at the same time since it’s known that he claimed one during the day.
On 24 March 1943, Dmitriyev failed to return from a combat mission.
At the time of his death, Dmitriyev was credited with 2 biplane victories.
These had been claimed during 46 combat missions and 12 air combats (as of 5 February 1942).
