Mikhail Dunaytsev was born in 1909.

From July 1942, starshiy leitenant Dunaytsev served in 483 IAP. This regiment was equipped with Polikarpov I-153s.
They started operations on 15 July 1942 on the North Caucasian Front.

The regiment left the front on 3 August 1942.

They retrained on the Yak-7B between March and August 1943.

Between 13 September and 31 October 1943, they operated on the South-Western Front.

Kapitan Dunaytsev ended the war with 1 biplane victory and a total of 2.
