Major Mikhail Sergeevich Feoktistov
1914 –
Mikhail Feoktistov was born in 1914.
When invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941, Starshii Leitenant Feoktistov served in 32 IAP-ChF of the Black Sea Fleet. This unit was equipped with Polikarpov I-153s.
In December 1941, he was posted to 8 IAP-ChF, which also was equipped with I-153s.
On 3 April 1942, 8 IAP-ChF was upgraded to a Guards unit as the 6 GIAP-ChF.
Feoktistov ended the war with 2 biplane victories and a total of 6.
These where claimed during 599 combat missions (as of 17 August 1944).
During his career he was decorated with the Order of the Red Banner (twice), the Order of Alexander Nevskii, the Order of the Patriotic War 1st Class (twice) and the Order of the Red Star.
