Khasan Ibatulin was born in Orenburg on 21 March 1913.

He joined the Red Army in 1935 and graduated from Odessa Military Aviation Pilot School.
In 1936 he graduated from the Orenburg Military Aviation Pilot School.

He served in the Gomel Aviation Assault Brigade of the Special Belarusian Military District.

As an eskadrilya komissar, he took part in the campaign of Soviet troops in Western Ukraine in 1939.

He was then posted to 160 IAP (43 IAD).

When Germany invaded the Soviet Union on 22 June 1941, starshiy politruk Ibatulin still served in 160 IAP. This regiment was equipped with Polikarpov I-153s on the Western Front.

In August 1941, 160 IAP was divided and Ibatulin was posted to the new regiment, 429 IAP, where he continued to fly LaGG-3s.

In April 1942, he left 429 IAP and was posted to 436 IAP. With this regiment he flew Hurricanes, Kittyhawks and Airacobras

Ibatulin was seriously wounded on 4 July 1942.

On 21 March 1943, 436 IAP became a guard’s unit and renamed to 67 GIAP.

18 December 1943, Ibatulin became CO of 30 GIAP. He was to command this unit until 32 December 1945. This regiment was equipped with Airacobras.

Podpolkovnik Ibatulin ended the war with 4 shared biplane victories and a total of 8.
These had been claimed during 383 combat missions and 79 air combats.

After the end of the war, he continued to serve in the Air Force and retired with the rank of polkovnik.

Ibatulin died in 1992 and is buried in Alma-Ata (Kazakhstan).
