Vasiliy Ivanov was born in 1918.
In February 1942, leitenant Ivanov was posted to 133 IAP. This regiment was equipped with Polikarpov I-153s and operated on the Crimean Front.
On 26 March, he was shot down during air combat. He parachuted with injuries and burns.
His injuries required hospitalisation and he didn’t return to 133 IAP.
During his time with 133 IAP, he had taken part in 65 combat missions and 21 air combats.
In June 1942, he was posted to 931 SAP where he remained until December 1942.
Ivanov ended the war with 3 biplane victories.
