Mikhail Korneyev was born in 1918.

Leitenant Korneyev was posted to 977 IAP in January 1943. With this unit he flew Polikarpov I-153s.

He left 977 IAP in March 1943 and in August 1943, he was posted to 161 IAP. With this unit he flew La-5s.

In November 1944, he left 161 IAP and was posted to 927 IAP where he continued to fly La-5s until the end of the war.

Kapitan Konrneyev ended the war with 1 biplane victory and a total of 8.
