Walter Korouzom served as a volunteer in the Spanish Civil War.
In Spain he served in the 1^a Escuadrilla of 26 Gruppo de Caza flying the Polikarpov I-15.

On 24 August, Starshii Leitenant Nikita Syusyukalov of the 1^a Escuadrilla claimed a shared Ju 52 with Korouzom over Baharalos while Leitenant Mikhail Yakushin claimed a second.

Korouzom ended the war with one shared biplane victory, this claimed while flying the Polikarpov I-15 during the Spanish Civil War.
