Kapitan Ivan Gavrilovich Loginov

1918 – 30 January 1942

Ivan Loginov was born in 1918.

Leitenant Loginov served in 38 IAP during the Soviet-Finnish Winter War in 1939-1940, flying Polikarpov I-153s.

On 22 February 1941, he was decorated the Order of the Red Banner.

When Germany attacked the Soviet Union on 22 June 1941, he still served in 38 IAP and was still flying Polikarpov I-153s.

On 21 October, 38 IAP withdraw from the frontline to re-equip with LaGG-3s.

They returned to combat with their new LaGG-3s on 27 December on the North-Western Front.

Kapitan Loginov didn’t return from a combat mission on 30 January 1942.
It is possible that he had been shot down by Hauptmann Franz Eckerle from Stab I./JG 54 (Bf 109F), who claimed two ”I-18s” at 11:11.

At the time of his death, Loginov had claimed 4 biplane victories and a total of 5.
These were claimed during 178 combat missions.

Loginov was decorated with a second posthumous Order of the Red Banner on 11 February 1942.
