Major Ivan Osipovich Pavlov

1919 –

Ivan Pavlov was born in 1919.

He joined the Red Army in 1938.

From February 1942, Starshii Leitenant Pavlov served in 133 IAP, flying Polikarpov I-153s.

In May 1942, he was posted to 931 IAP, still flying I-153s.
He left this unit in December 1942.

In September 1943, he was posted to 160 IAP as an eskadrilia commander and with this unit he flew La-5s and La-7s (from October 1944).

160 IAP became 137 GIAP on 14 April 1944.

Pavlov ended the war with 1 biplane victory and a total of 6.
According to the award material, in 1942, he was credited with two enemy aircraft and 7 shared on the Crimean and Northern Caucasus Fronts, but this is not confirmed with any operational documents.
These were claimed during approximately 300 combat missions and more than 50 air combats.
During his career he was decorated with the Order of the Red Banner (8 June 1942 and 28 March 1944), The Order of Alexander Nevsky (26 August 1944) and the Order of Patriotic War, 1st Class (10 July 1944).
