Kapitan Ivan Nikolayevich Videnkin
Ivan Videnkin was born in 1915.
In December 1941, he was posted to 482 IAP, which was equipped with Polikarpov I-153s.
On 19 July, a Ju 88 was claimed as a shared destroyed over Bataysk by eight pilots from 482 IAP. Among these pilots were leitenant Pavel Vasil’yev and Videnkin.
He left 482 IAP in September 1942.
Between July and October 1943, he served in 821 IAP, which was equipped with Spitfires.
When he left 821 IAP in October 1943, he was posted to 494 IAP, which was equipped with Airacobras.
494 IAP was in combat with FW 190s over Skrunda on 18 November 1944 and Ivan Videnkin claimed one wile Ivan Ilyushi (2. eskadrilya) claimed a second.
Videnkin claimed two FW 190s south-east of Saldus on 29 December while Ivan Ilyushin claimed a third south of Saldus.
On 19 February 1945, he claimed an FW 190 destroyed before he was reported as missing.
At the time of his death, Videnkin was credited with 1 shared biplane victory and a total of 6.
During the war, he was decorated with two Order of the Red Banner and the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st Class.
