On 2 March 1940, two I-153s flown by Starshii Leitenants Lazarev and Nikolay Shepetov (4th eskadrilia) claimed two Fokker D.XXIs in the Tampere area.
These claims can’t be verified with finnish losses.

Lazarev ended the war with 1 biplane victory.
