Starshiy Leytenant Nikolay Ivanovich Shepetov

Starshiy leytenant Nikolay Shepetov served in the 4./38 IAP during the Winter War. This unit was equipped with Polikarpov I-153s.

On 17 February 1940, kapitan Kashtanov and starshiy leytenant Shepetov of 4./38 IAP claimed two Fokkers at Turku.
These claims can’t be verified with Finnish records.

On 2 March, two I-153s flown by starshiy leytenants Lazarev and Shepetov (4th eskadrilya) claimed two Fokker D.XXIs in the Tampere area.
These claims can’t be verified with Finnish losses.

The LaGG-3s from 38 IAP fought with Bf 109s in the Parfino area on 22 February 1942 and Nikolay Sobolev claimed one west of Parfino station as a shared together with three other pilots while Shepetov claimed one over Parfino as a shared with another pilot.

Shepetov ended the war with 2 biplane victories.
These had been claimed during 119 combat missions.
During his career, he was decorated with the Order of the Red Banner and the Order of the Red Star (twice).
