Leytenant Konstantin Ivanovich Gorin

1913 – 17 July 1941

Konstantin Gorin was born in 1913.

Leytenant Gorin served in 38 IAP during the Soviet-Finnish Winter War in 1939-1940, flying Polikarpov I-153s.

On 22 February 1941, he was decorated the Order of the Red Banner.

When Germany attacked the Soviet Union on 22 June 1941, he still served in 38 IAP and was still flying Polikarpov I-153s.

On 17 July, 38 IAP claimed four Bf 110s. One was claimed by kapitan Vasiliy Kashtanov (I-153 or I-16) over Staraya Russa airfield. The other three were individual claims by three I-153s pilots; leytenant Gorin, mladshiy leytenant Vasiliy Belous and mladshiy leytenant Nikolay Gorbunov. It’s possible that these claims also were made over Staraya Russa airfield.
Leytenant Gorin was killed during the day and it’s also possible that this was during this combat.

At the time of his death, Gorin had claimed 2 biplane victories.

Gorin was decorated with a second posthumous Order of the Red Banner on 25 July 1941.
